The Ankarsrum Original Mixer is an all-purpose, professional quality electric mixer. Both the design and performance are unlike any other mixer. The 7.4-quart stainless steel mixing bowl attaches to the drive socket at the base of the mixer. This drive socket rotates and spins the bowl, while the scraper and mixer arm remain stationary. Attach the dough roller or the stainless steel dough hook to the mixer arm. As the mixer rolls and kneads the dough, the scraper continuously scrapes the side of the bowl. No need to stop the mixer to scrape down the sides and ensure all ingredients are incorporated. Once you are finished mixing, use the dough scraper to easily remove any remaining dough from the dough roller or dough hook. The 4-quart plastic beater bowl uses a center shaft that attaches to the drive socket. The beater housing attaches to the top of the center shaft, which rotates the beaters within the plastic bowl. Two sets of double beaters are attached: wire balloon whisks for eggs, egg whites, and whipping cream; and single wire whips for cake batter and light frosting. Manually control the mixer speed using the 12 settings at the base of the mixer. The base also features a timer for up to 12 minutes of mixing. The open design of both bowls makes it easy to add ingredients as you mix.
